AROUND THE BLOCK V– Giertz Gallery at Parkland College, in collaboration with 40 North: Champaign County Arts Council, presents  Around the Block IV: Artists from Our Neighborhood, a juried community exhibition of regional artists. This exhibit is open to all artists 18 years and older residing in Champaign County and Counties within the Parkland College 505 District, including Ford, Coles, Champaign, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Iroquois, Livingston, Moultrie, McClean, and Vermilion. All work must be original and not previously exhibited at the Giertz Gallery. Work completed under an instructor’s supervision is not eligible. Only works completed after January 2023 will be accepted. The Juror will make all final determinations. Submission deadline is April 21, 2025. Click here for entry form and more information. 

MURALS ON GLASS– The Urbana Arts & Culture Program and 40 North invite artists to participate in a new cycle of Murals on Glass, an initiative to feature local artworks on downtown Urbana windows. This cycle, two selected pieces will be reproduced in adhesive vinyl and adhered to windows at the south and east entrances of Lincoln Square. The two selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $150. Submission deadline is 11:59pm on Friday, March 28th.

CRYSTAL LAKE PARK ART FAIR– The 7th Annual Crystal Lake Park Art Fair in Urbana, IL will be held on August 2 & 3, 2025 from 10am-4pm. SHADY LOCATION!!! Selected artists will be setting up along the park road next to the large pavilion and the Lake House at Crystal Lake Park (206 W. Park St.) Booth fee will be $125 for the 2 days. Submission deadline is 11:59pm on Monday, May 5th.

CREATIVITY ON WHEELSCreativity on Wheels is a program offering bimonthly creativity boxes delivered by volunteers and monthly phone calls from a friendly volunteer to adults 60 and older living independently in Champaign & Douglas Counties. Boxes are themed and include art materials, art exercises designed by local artists, introspective crafts, affirmation cards, thought-provoking questions, and more!

Selected artists will receive a $300 stipend.

COMMON GROUND FOOD CO-OP FLATLANDER GALLERY– Apply to show your local art at Common Ground Food Cooperative! We are looking for many local artists to feature in our gallery. Our Art Gallery is located in our highly utilized Flatlander Classroom. This multi-use Classroom is ideal for integrating the arts into the urban environment and creating partnerships among artists, the community, and the Co-op. Selected artists will be invited to install for around 1.5 months (approximately 6 weeks). Selected artists will be allotted 2 identical locked cases in the gallery each measuring 8’ long x 44’’ high x 4’’ wide.
